Bishop22, I like spicy as much as the next person, perhaps even more. But when it comes to popeyes I do prefer the flavor profile of the mild. It has all the spices and flavors without the heat. The spicy just doesn't have the same flavor. You should try it sometime!

Mild popeyes? What's the point? I agree that Popeyes is the best chain fried chicken in America, but what's fun about it is the spices, seasoning and heat. BTW, when next in DC either of you should make it down to Nandos for their Peri-peri chicken. Not as good (or spicy) as what they sell in London and the rest of the world (it's a South African chain) but still the best chain chicken (it's non-fried) I have ever had.

Just had some of the leftover popeye's for lunch. If it were a little later in the day, I would have tried the gruener veitliner pairing. Looking forward to the next popeye's wine tasting!!
